Waypoint Assessment
Focus Your Efforts
The CBC Waypoint Assessment helps owners step back from the day-to-day and get a clear view of where focused effort will have the biggest impact. It’s a structured way to sort through competing priorities so you’re not guessing what to work on—you’re choosing it on purpose.
CBC members use the Waypoint as a regular checkpoint every six months to keep effort, investment, and leadership energy pointed in the right direction.
Why It Matters
As your business grows, everything starts to feel important. Fires, opportunities, ideas, and “we should really…” conversations compete for the same limited time and resources.
The Waypoint Assessment gives you a simple, objective way to answer one core question:
If we can only move two or three things in the next six months, what should they be?
It turns that answer into a starting point for deeper conversations with your team and inside your CBC peer group.
What It Reveals
The Waypoint focuses less on personality and more on where the business needs attention. It helps you see:
-
Which parts of the business are solid and can be left alone for now
-
Where things are “just okay” but quietly limiting growth or stability
-
Areas where you’re putting in a lot of effort without getting much return
-
High-leverage opportunities where a clearer focus could unlock real progress
You walk away with a short, focused list of priority areas most likely to drive the biggest impact to your organization.
