Terms & Conditions

Effective as of June 10, 2025

The Creative Business Council (CBC) is a curated leadership community for owners and senior leaders in the trades and manufacturing industries. Membership is selective, with expectations of active contribution, confidentiality, and personal responsibility.

This document outlines the principles and expectations for all CBC members.

1. Membership Philosophy

CBC is not a passive networking group. This is your boardroom. Members are expected to take their seat seriously—show up, share openly, and challenge themselves and others with rigor and care.

We do not exist to make you feel good. We exist to make you better.

2. Attendance & Participation

  • Consistent attendance is expected: You will be billed whether you attend or not. When you miss, the group loses the benefit of your insight and discernment.
  • This is not a group for convenience: We do not issue “excused absences.” What you model in this room mirrors what you lead in your company.

3. Commitment & Cancellation

  • Initial Commitment: New members commit to a minimum of six (6) months to ensure continuity and cohesion within the group.
  • Ongoing Engagement: After twelve (12) months, if CBC is not meaningfully contributing to your growth, we will ask you to step away.
  • Cancellation Policy:
    • A 30-day written notice is requested to cancel your membership.
    • No refunds will be issued for partially used periods.

We do not litigate or chase members—departures are typically mutual and based on fit and focus.

4. Confidentiality & Non-Disparagement

  • Confidentiality is non-negotiable: What’s said in the room stays in the room. Financials, team issues, strategic direction, and personal reflection must remain strictly confidential. Violation will result in immediate dismissal, without refund or recourse.
  • Non-Disparagement: Members agree to uphold a spirit of directness and respect.
  • Gossip, side conversations, or negative commentary behind a member’s back is not tolerated.
  • Concerns must be addressed either directly with the individual or brought confidentially to the CBC facilitation team.
  • This is a room of leaders; integrity is the baseline.

5. MidMonth Meetings

Each member is invited to a 1:1 monthly “MidMonth” meeting with a CBC facilitator. These are candid, off-the-record working sessions to process, strategize, and explore ideas in a focused setting.

Note: No MidMonths are scheduled between December and January’s full-group meeting.

6. Additional Support & Consulting

Calls, emails, and messages outside of scheduled sessions are welcome and encouraged. We do not charge for additional support unless a formal consulting project or ongoing leadership engagement is established with a written scope of work and clearly defined fees.

7. Billing & Invoicing

  • Invoices are due upon receipt.
  • Accounts more than 30 days overdue are subject to 1% monthly interest.
  • Access to meetings and benefits may be suspended if accounts remain unpaid.
  • We’ve never had to enforce this—and we expect to keep it that way.

8. Intellectual Property and Content Use

All content, frameworks, exercises, and materials shared during CBC sessions are the intellectual property of CBC or the contributing member. Members agree:

  • Not to record, reproduce, or redistribute any proprietary materials without explicit permission.
  • Not to share internal templates, tools, or processes with non-members unless explicitly allowed.

9. Code of Conduct

To maintain a high standard of professionalism and trust, members are expected to:

  • Treat others with respect, regardless of differing opinions or leadership styles.
  • Avoid solicitation of other members for personal business interests without prior consent.
  • Maintain punctuality and preparedness for meetings.
  • Alert the CBC team if they feel a member is acting in misalignment with group values.

10. Liability Disclaimer

While CBC facilitators and members may provide advice or insights, all decisions and actions taken by the member are their sole responsibility. CBC does not assume liability for:

  • Business outcomes influenced by ideas or feedback provided within the group.
  • Any damages, losses, or disruptions arising from participation in CBC sessions.

Final Word

You are in control of your outcomes. CBC provides the room, the peer group, and the facilitators—but your growth is your responsibility.

If you stop showing up, stop stretching, or stop contributing—we’ll notice, and so will you.

This is a room where leaders are forged—not preserved.
